The multinational tech giant has taken a new turn and is now focusing on the enterprise market; it is still to early to say whether the greatest tech company will be able to take that market as well.
Apple, Inc., on Wednesday released its iPad Pro for sale. This is the tech giant’s most expensive as well as largest tablet that has been released since the initiation of the multinational technology company. The chief executive officer Tim Cook has high hopes and ambitions for the newly released device, the fact that the investors find it rather modest, it give further hope to not only the CEO but also the company itself.
Launching the new Apple iPad Pro is a first for the American tech giant as well since the device is designed specifically for business users. Apple has always kept its focus on a more youngster outlook rather than aiming at the business niche market more like that of Blackberry’s. The business user has never been Apple’s ultimate user. As per the recent earnings call made by Tim Cook the revenue generation from the enterprise market or popularly the “business market” in a trial time span of one year touched a $25 billion mark. This revenue generation accounted for 11% of the sales that were made in that period.
The tech giant has always kept its focus on diversifying especially when it comes to its iPhones since they account for at least two third of the multinational company’s total revenue. The executive now is making an entrance into the enterprise market which he has had an eye on for a while now. This interest of Mr. Cook’s has been evident from the recent partnerships that he has gotten into in the past year. In order to grow its business and further be better able to market its products to bigger companies, the company decided to indulge in such partnerships with Cisco System as well as International Business Machines.
Additionally, this new strategy of Cook’s becomes extra clear when we get to know that the company has not just put its iPad against other tablets in the market but instead is being marketed against laptops. This is not quite as easy as it might sound since it has already been witnessed in the tech company’s history. Initially when the first iPad was launched back in 2010 it was a popular belief that it would go against laptops but thanks to the sales of its own Apple MacBook line, this thought failed to work out.
In Fiscal Year 2013, the number of units of iPads that were sold was 71 million which was the highest it has even gone to and since then the sales have declined. In the recent fiscal year 2015, the sales of the tech giant’s tablets dropped down to 55 million units which was a drop of 19%. The new iPad Pro has been priced at $799 for a 32-GB device and goes up to $1,217 for a 128 GB model.

Apple Blocks Apple News App In China
Apple Inc. has discontinued the use of its News App in the Chinese market as reported by New York Times who cited a source that is closely associated with this venture. The Apple News application that caters to stories and other digital content produced by multiple sources is so far only accessible to the company’s clientele within the United States. Moreover, testing is also being done in other regions like Australia and Britain. Those users who already have the application installed on Apple products can use it whilst traveling. However, the only constraint is that the app cannot be used in China claims New York Times. As per the report, when any user launches the News app in China, the top banner that usually shows the current news, depicts a message that claims, "Can't refresh right now. News isn't supported in your current region." This scenario has created a rough situation for Apple since it always portrays itself like a progressive firm whose primary focus is to advocate innovation and human rights. This creates havoc since China is the largest Internet market across the globe that has very strict rules in terms of censorship. All Internet based companies are liable to comply with strict censorship rules as per their law. Along with that, they also have to come up with the firewall mechanism that tends to lower or, in most cases, block international web based services. Previously, Google also stopped its search engine related services in China once a dispute happened with the local government over censorship. China is said to be the second largest market for Apple where during the third quarter a record was touched with sales worth $13 billion reports the New York Times. Mr. Xi Jinping who is the President of China, visited the United States last month where the chief executive officer of the iPhone making company, Mr. Tim Cook met the authority. The reason why Apple might have banned the app in China can be the time that it will have to spend to filter out content. This, instead it chose to completely disable the app within the region. However, some users are not content with the move, who believe that the company is not just restricting Internet access but also stopping users from previewing the articles that are saved already on the devices. The move is blunt but the censorship laws in China are relatively absurd to comply too.

Apple stated that the new version of the iPhone would be launched with the 12-megapixel camera equipped in it and improved touch ID finger print sensor, which is much faster than the old version.
According to Phil Schiller, the mobile producer traded around 1% low after CEO Tim Cook revealed its new versions, iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Moreover, CEO of the Apple Inc. stated in order to promote its new releases, "While the may look familiar, we have changed everything about these new iPhones."
The improved multi-touch in new phones is known as the “3D Touch.” The company claimed to have taken the touch feature to a new level by introducing 3D Touch. Loyalists are impatient to experience the innovation first-hand. Only time would tell the fate of the innovation.

How Apple ResearchKit Can Make A Difference?
The iPhone app not only benefits users, it’s designed to help people world over and contribute to medical research and studies.
The introduction of Apple’s Research Kit this year got tons of people to sign up for medical research, the initiative got thousands of volunteers to sign up within a day of the launch. According to the research studies that have been carried out lately, a large amount of data collection and information have been carried out recently covering many aspects of the research studies that are carried out in patients.
Dr. Eric Schadt, from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY, explained, "Traditional research has been constrained to informing potential participants about a study, the risks, the benefits and so on, by sitting directly with the participant (or on the phone) to step them through the paperwork and other material to complete the informed consent."
Dr. Eric has been involved with the app related to Asthma, which previews that symptoms in areas that could trigger the effect reports that on the first day only of the launch of the iPhone app, around 2,500 downloads of the Asthma app were received. This, however, would generally take researchers around 1-2 years, but within a month the app claimed over 7,500 sign-ups.
Moreover, previously Apple employees, Senior Vice president Operations, Jeff Williams and Bud Tribble covered various aspects of the app, according to latest Apple news.
According to Williams, developing the HealthKit in turn, lead to the idea of ResearchKit. In order to develop the health app, Apple met up with a number of health professionals, constant contact with the medical industry was vital for the development of a fully functional and useful app. According to Williams’s constant exposure to the health industry provided important insight about the concerns of medical professionals; medical professionals themselves were fascinated by the app and claimed that the app could prove to be an important tool for research.
Williams laid increased emphasis on the importance of the ResearchKit for the medical industry as well as the patients; the ResearchKit is designed to keep the patients engaged in bringing about improvements in their health. He added that Apple foresees, “huge opportunities with hundreds of millions of iPhones users,”
Apple is fully devoted to the cause, which is why they’ve kept ResearchKit open source unlike other Apple products; this way researchers can continue contributing towards the improvement of the product, thus ensuring a superior impact.
The open source platform that was released in April was made available on the app store; the applications cover Parkinson’s disease, Asthma, Breast Cancer, Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes. Given the gigantic army of iPhone users spread out the world over, Researchkit will be a game changer when it comes to medical research and the number of people participating in research studies. According to Stanford University.

Bidness Tech - Pebble Time Is Not Content With Apple
Apple faces criticism by Pebble Time for not approving its app review.
Recently Pebble Time started the shipment of is the wearable device. However, the company is dealing with several issues whilst connecting with Apple iPhones. The company is concerned about this issue and to add more value to this, the company has approached Twitter Inc. to make the issue viral on social media.
Pebble Time has asked customers to help it out and has asked consumer to promote ““#FreeOurPebbleTime” since Apple Inc. is making it relatively difficult for them. App store submission is the core problem, which the company is dealing with currently.
According to the company, the developers have sent an app review to Apple on May 18 before the Pebble Time was actually launched. Moreover, Pebble also believes that the company is responsible for the obstruction. Ironically, many customers consider Pebble’s device to be “paper weight” for Apple users since it is not much compatible.
Apple is not the one to be blamed since Pebble submitted the app review and less than 10 days had passed. However, for any app review to publish, minimum 10 days are required. Pebble should have taken this factor into consideration before submission because this is certainly not Apple’s fault if they were not considerate about Apple’s policies.
For the time being, Pebble has asked its clients to access the watch facilities by borrowing an Android phone. The idea is to down load the Watch Faces so that they can enjoy the features of this wearable technology.
Pebble has also acknowledged that they submitted bug fixes for its product, but that also has been pending since 43 days. According to them the issue is the Apple Watch is the reason why Apple has been skeptical about their products. The company wishes to only develop, market, sale and promote its own wearable technology. According to BidnessEtc, “The official statement by the company remains that they have not faced any faults with the Pebble app, with the previous statement of applications not being denied access, on the grounds that they are working with Pebble.”
It is normal for Pebble to react in such a manner, but now they are just trying to create controversy, everybody knows that the Apple Watch is relatively better than Pebble Time in terms of quality, finish, features etc. but the biggest benefit for Apple watch is that it is an Apple product. The company should settle the dispute with authorities in a subtle manner rather than making the entire social media talk about it.

Bidness Tech - Apple Maps Might Be Useful In Apple Cars
The iPhone makers have been lately working on Apple Maps which might turn out to be for the upcoming car that the firm is working on.
Three years back in 2012, when Apple launched its Apple Maps, the venture was seen as a clumsy step to be taken by a company that has always been praised for its excellent choice of products and software. There were reportedly many shortcomings of the map that took the attention of the analysts as it had many issues regarding reaching out to place out of its reach. However, the criticism was taken well by the iPhone 6 makers and they have reportedly worked on their mapping app to make it a better one and competitive enough to compete with Google maps. Since the past several quarter, the difference has been seen to be quite eminent in the smartphones released by the Californian Company.
Even though many analysts believe that Apple Maps was introduced in the first place to compete with software rival Google Inc, but some analysts are of the believe that for a company which is famous for earning most of its revenue from the sales of the hardware products it produces, like the iPhone, iPad and Mac, it does not make sense for the firm to come up with a minor mobile app to compete with the giant that has already established itself in the field. Keeping in mind that the Californian firm is capable of making such decisions as spending on new ventures is not a problem for it, considering the $194 billion cash it has in hand, the analysts refuse to believe that this act is just being carried out to satisfy the need complete.
According to recent news, Apple has been working more towards making its mapping app work in a more refined way. As per a report by Motley Fool, it was seen that the software firm bought Coherent Navigation recently and made arrangements to renew its TomTom license, which is responsible to provide assets to the iPhone makers which are essential for the working of the mapping app.
The reason why analysts believe Apple is working more on its mapping app than before shows that the firm is looking at it in a broader perspective than the mere competition. With the help of Apple maps, even though people will increase their demand for iPhones, it is expected that this will come in handy in the Apple Watch which might help the users more.
On the other hand, analysts think that this will turn out to be the most useful in the upcoming car that Apple is reportedly working on and for the firm to spend so much time and focus on the app lately shows that the iPod makers might be thinking the same.

Bidness Tech - Carl Icahn Believes Apple's Stock Is Worth $240
Apple is believed to have shares valued up to $240 in an open letter written by Carl Icahn
In the most recent Apple news, it was seen that Tim Cook received a letter by Carl Icahn, one of the most dominant and influential businessman in the industry, in which he was congratulated for carrying out the business activities of the software company in such a successful manner. It was an open letter written by him in which he showed much positivity regarding the recent activities that helped the company obtain exceptional success and dominance over other firms of its kind in the industry. Icahn also declared in the letter that he believed that the stock of the iPhone makers was worth a massive $240.
Analysts, on the other hand, believe that this expectation out of Apple stock by Carl Icahn is not to be right as his expectations are way above the line. It is to be believed that this price target is just something that has a very low chance of actually taking place. Therefore, analysts have declared that this should not make the investors too optimistic about the firm since it is very likely to not take place. Icahn seems to be a little too optimistic about the stock worth of the iPhone makers as per analysts’ analysis.
Even though in his letter Carl Icahn has been persistent that he is being rational by thinking Apple is capable of such a share price, but analysts think that he is being a little too aggressive only because he is satisfied with how the firm is working. However, analysts only seem to agree with the predictions on the sales of iPhone which are expected to increase by 2.3 percent in 2016 and around 6.7 percent in the year next to that.
Analysts believe that by saying that Apple will soon be starting the production and selling of its very own Apple TV and Apple car, Icahn is stating nothing new but supporting just a few rumors that are already been circulating in the air. Now going back to the history a little back, it will be seen that the firm has previously thought about working on a TV but only a year ago, the iPhone makers reportedly discontinued the work that was being done on it, as per a report by Wall Street.
Analysts are of the opinion that Icahn is most probably going to be proved wrong since expecting Apple to launch something that it has not even been working on for the past year is actually not very smart and that it needs a bigger revenue generation than it already is obtaining to carry out such a task.

Bidness Tech - Microsoft Needs To Explore New Initiatives
Microsoft needs to come out of Windows and explore new segments like computing on web and desktop.
Previously many questioned whether the CEO of Microsoft Corporation’s Mr. Satya Nadella could cope up for the losses the company has experienced. However, things have changed to a great extent for them and they are actually on the verge of redemption. At this point, Mr. Nadella’s strategy is working out for the firm but still there are certain loopholes in the company’s strategy and vision that will halt the company’s growth in the times to come.
Tiernan Ray of Barron’s Asia believes that for a company to be successful it needs to have the aspects of Android and Apple. Despite the fact that Mr. Nadella’s efforts have boosted Microsoft (MSFT) stocks to a price of $48.30. The company’s effort to streamline its service for its Windows operating system have acted as barriers for them since they are now focused on one particular domain rather than exploring other potential platforms. Computing in mobile and web has immense potential for growth, Mr. Ray suggests MSFT to come out of Windows and explore new horizons.
September will be a game changer for the firm where it expects to launch Windows 10 which is expected to be the next eye candy for developers and users. The company is focused and believes that the upcoming operating system will have such advancements that have never been seen in Windows OS. Many consider that it will be on par Max OS X. However those have been associated with the company for long do not see it as a major advancement.
Mr. Sherlund, while speaking to Barron’s Asia stated: “It used to be they would ship a new version, and the market took it as an inducement to buy new PCs. But the PC market is just too mature at this point for consumers to have a lot of interest in a new operating system.”
The company is now on the right track considering they have something big in store that is likely to become a major disruption. Moreover, the company now has several futuristic plans which if implemented in the right direction can cause further disruption.
MSFT is only struggling when it comes to their smartphones where the operating system on this platform is not very well received by the masses. Moreover, developer’s preferences for iOS and Android over Windows has also resulted in defame which the company needs to worry about.
Microsoft products and services are increase and getting better with time if this continues then the future is extremely stable for them.

Bidness Tech - Apple's CEO Believes iPad Sales Are Affected by iPhone 6
The sales of iPhone 6 have resulted in the decrease in the demand for iPad, according to the CEO of the Silicon Valley company.
According to recent Apple news, the company reported its earnings for the quarter in which it discussed issues that have long been bothering the firm. The CEO of the firm was seen talking about the decline in the sales of iPad which has become a constant issue that the company has been facing for a couple of quarters now. In the most recent quarterly earnings, Tim Cook told the press that the iPad sales have fallen yet again, witnessing a massive decline, with the revenue coming down by 29% whereas the shipments saw a dip of around 23%. This further fall in the sales has raised concerns of the investors only a little bit keeping in mind the exceptionally great sales that the company has managed to make the iPhone sales.
One reason that was given by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook was that the iPhone making company reduced the units that were normally shipped by around one million units which were why the decline in sales was being witnessed. However, analysts believe that this reason is not good enough because even if the company had not cut down on the shipments, the decline on a year over year basis was still recorded at around 16.7%.
The statement of Cook that caught everyone attention was when he said that the dip in the sales of iPad that was being faced was due to the overpowering sales of Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus as well as the sales of Mac. According to analysts, the fact that Steve Jobs, the previous CEO of Apple, believed in competing with the company and its products is something that is being followed by Tim Cook now as well, as the competition that has been built within the company is the main reason why sales of one significant product of the producers have seen a decline.
Analysts believe that even though the issue of the dip in iPad sales has been brought up every now and then, it is a fact that Apple is not as much concerned about the decrement in the iPad demand as, on the other hand, the extraordinary sales of iPhone have solved many of the problems that the company could have faced.
Furthermore, it was seemingly surprising for analysts to hear that iPhone was not the only product affecting the Apple iPad demand, but the sales of Mac has also increased over the past couple of quarters, hence becoming a reason of hindrance in iPad sales too.
Customers who are using the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have a rational reason for not going for an iPad update as the phones that they are using are expensive and big in size too, eliminating the need for another gadget of the same kind.
