In FY15, the company succeeded in securing the most number of patents within the United States for the 23^rd time in a row. Thus, it has again proved to be the king of innovation. It visited the US patent office quite frequently and collected almost 7,335 patents on its own.

A segment of Fairview Research LLC, known as the IFI Claims Patent Service, compiled data. According to the data, several companies followed IBM league, including Samsung Electronics Company, Canon, Qualcomm, and Google respectively.

The recent list clearly indicates that the masses today are more inclined towards cognitive and cloud companies.
