Verizon Communication Rolls Out WIFI Calling Service

Verizon Communications

The American telecommunication giant is rolling out its new WIFI calling service on December 8, 2015.
On Friday, the American telecommunication giant, Verizon Communication Inc. announced that it will be rolling out a software update on December 8, 2015 which will allow Verizon users to make calls via WIFI. This novel feature will be available on Android smartphones at first, exclusively on Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.
Verizon Communication Inchas decided to roll this new feature out for its users mostly in areas where its service is not very strong yet. In the beginning it’ll be on Samsung’s flagship but by the year 2016, the company announced that it will be available on other android devices as well as the iPhone. Since other carriers are already providing the service, including AT&T, the telecom giant will need to go the extra mile to attract users and put forth a smart marketing strategy.
AT&T is the New Jersey based telecom company’s biggest competitor that rolled the same WiFI calling service earlier in October. Although the service launched by AT&T is exclusively for iPhones as the moment. These WIFI costs, at the time, are said to be cost free but it is expected that it might incur some cost on international calling.
The WIFI calling feature can be switched on, after the software update is rolled out, by activating the advanced calling option on the phone and then switching on the WIFI. Nowadays, people prefer using wireless networks and what could be better if can make calls via it now. Currently, this is a great tool for networks that do not have presence in some areas at least they can still communicate regardless of the poor network coverage.
Another positive aspect of this feature is that it could easily reduce users service spending. Calling is quite expensive due to which people prefer not to make too many calls now with the WIFI calling options they do not have to worry about the added cost they would incur without it. A number of other carriers have become interested in this as well such as Scratch Wireless and Republic Wireless.
On a separate note, Verizon stock was being traded at a share price of $45.70 which signified an increase of 2.56% in comparison to its previous price per share which was $44.56. The highest level at which the share price, during the course of the session was seen at was $45.78 with a low of $44.71. The current market capital of the telecommunication company is $185.99 billion. The earnings per share reported by the telecom company were 2.51 and a price to earnings ratio of 18.18.

Bidness Tech - Verizon Set To Offer Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Starting From $199

The wireless company has decided to sign a deal with Samsung and offer the new Galaxy Note 4 in a deal starting from $199.

Verizon Communications has always been ahead in the league of trying to lure more and more customers towards its wireless business. The attempts of the wireless carrier have never been in vain and the increasing number of a user base that it has been enjoying does not seem to cease. Since the time smartphones have gained momentum, telecom wireless carrier companies have been in the race to sell the most cell phones through their network and for the purpose, they have been offering packages through which customers can buy new smartphones in low affordable prices, and also avail a considerable amount of discount in the process.

The increasing competition in the telecom industry has driven all the giants to carry out all possible actions which will maximize profit. Similarly, according to the most recent Verizon news, it has become evident that the wireless giant has signed a deal with Samsung along with Sprint Corporation to sell the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phablet in an incredible deal worth $199, for a written period of two years. In the deal, it has been discussed that the customers who will be acquiring the phablet will be signing up for telecom wireless services provided by either the largest wireless company of America or by Sprint.

The plus point that the customers will be receiving from the deal is that they will be able to save a massive amount of money if they buy Note 4 through Best Buy. According to Bidness ETC, it has been declared that the customers will be able to save around $100 if they make a purchase using the offered deal. On the other hand, both the wireless giants have decided to offer the Note 4 in the retail stores owned by them with a price tag of $299. For the time being, only two colors will be available in the stores, and that will be of ‘frosted’ white and ‘charcoal’ black.

In a recent survey carried out by American Consumer Satisfaction Index, it was seen that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was stated as the best smartphone so far which surprisingly even beat the massive sales and demand of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Along with that, the firm managed to rank higher than phablets made by companies like Motorola, LG and HTC Corp.

Verizon wireless company along with Sprint have successfully upgraded Samsung Note 4 to Android 5.0 Lollipop which the analysts believe is going to attract quite a lot of new customers to the gadget. However, some analysts believe that this might not be pleased with the update due to some issues faced in the new software.
