Google Launches Android Security Rewards
Google plans to offer rewards to programmers and researchers for fixing Android bugs.
Recently Google Inc. the search engine giant at the Black Hat Mobile Security Summit, has announced that a Security Rewards program will be launched on Android operating system. The reason behind this program is to incentivize and motivate researchers so that they can research and resolve the threats and vulnerabilities associated with the tech behemoths operating system.
According to sources, the Reward program caters to the recent operating system for the upcoming Google Nexus smartphone. To date the reward program only encompasses Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus 6 smartphone. The researchers and programmers can almost make around $8,000 on the basis of the severity of the threat. The head of security affairs at Android, Adrian Ludwig, has made an announcement at the conference mentioned that Google Nexus is the only product line that is offering major reward programs at this time.
The program tailored by the company offers massive rewards along with recognition as well as public admiration for revealing various vulnerabilities to the Android team. The company will honor the programmer and researcher rewards on the severity of the issue along with the quality of the report provided by the programmer or researcher.
However, it is pretty obvious that only the first report regarding specific bug will be rewarded by the company. Moreover, if someone reports these vulnerabilities without resolving them to third parties then the company will not entertain such programmers or researchers.
According to BidnessETC, “Researchers will not be rewarded for every bug found and solved on the Android platform, but there is a criteria set for the bugs which will be recognized by Android’s security team. Bugs which are considered eligible are those included in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code, the TrustZone operating system and modules, the kernel, and the OEM code.” So now it is said that the bug might have an impact on the overall security of the operating system. Also, it is not essential that they exist in the Android code to be eligible.
Google at this point has made it relatively clear in conveying the message regarding the reward program turns out to be a booster for Nexus then it will be expanded to several other devices and platforms. The researchers that have narrowed their focus to patches and tests “that revolve around security features like NX, sandboxing, and ASLR, will receive larger rewards.”
Hence Google has come up with an innovative venture that will encourage the researchers and programmers to invest their time in overcoming bugs for Nexus.

Google Hunting For New Partners For The Upcoming Nexus Smartphone
Xiaomi, Huawei, LG Electronics and Lenovo are potential candidates to win the Nexus Smartphone alliance.
Google Inc. the search engine giant is on a roll and has vowed to come up with more flagship smartphones by expanding it's Nexus smartphone series. This has provided a platform for several Chinese vendors to come on board with the company to carry out the cooperation plan.
According to Digitimes, the company is gearing towards making its way in the international fraternity, as said by the Taiwan Supply Chain industry today. The company is said to join hands with giants like LG Electronics, Xiaomi Technology, and Lenovo etc.
So far, LG is said to be the top most candidate to take the lead for the Nexus smartphone. The reason why LG has a clear advantage over other companies is simple because it earlier came up with Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 making it the best possible choice for Google at this point of time. Moreover, there is also a strong possibility that GOOG will use the scenario to its benefit and strengthen its position in the Chinese market.
This is a fairly great initiative for the company since now they will not just be focusing in the largest consumer market across the globe but just by having new manufacturing alliances will help them to break the monopoly of the top notch smartphone manufacturers. These partners will act as a driving force for Google by pushing the creative barriers through such alliances.
At this point Lenovo needs to step up, the company is not just popular in China for its personal computers but has a strong presence globally. Lenovo at this point of time has been struggling with its smartphones where it's products have not come on par with Chinese manufacturers like Huawei and Xiaomi. However, Lenovo certainly has an edge over other companies.
Google has already taken Motorola on board after they manufactured smartphones for the Chinese vendor. So now it is said that a bunch of smartphones will actually create a positive environment to strengthen a long term relationship.
So now Google is providing a great platform for all those who are interested in China to cash the opportunity. However, the company is generally more inclined towards LG who gave them Nexus 5 which was extremely popular among the masses. So now the LG has an edged but other companies like Xiaomi and Huawei also have a fairly amazing portfolio of smartphones that have become excessively popular. Thus, the company has a fairly difficult choice to make about the future of Google Nexus smartphones in the times to come.

Bidness Tech - Will Google Roll Out To Nexus Smartphones?
Google is likely to roll out to smartphones from the Nexus series this year.
Over the passage of time, Google Inc’s (GOOG) flagship smartphone Nexus has been designed and manufactured by various firms. However, no model has been successful in acquiring the same level of traction as LG Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. It is now rumored that LG is likely to come with a 2015 version of Nexus 5 which will again be a massive breakthrough in the world of smartphones as expected.
Nexus 5 was followed by Nexus 6 which was designed and manufactured by Motorola Solutions Inc. many users found to be a phablet rather than a smartphone. So now the companies wish to revive smartphones through the Nexus series, thus LG has taken up the responsibility to come up with a device that will be the successor of the popular Nexus 5.
This is not it, but the search engine giant is also said to be working with the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei Technology Co Ltd. to come up with a smartphone to continue the Nexus series. So is this actually turns out to be true then it will not be wrong to say that two Google Nexus smartphones will simultaneously make their way to the masses.
As speculated. The LG Nexus series is said to be equipped with a 5.2 inch screen, on the other hand, the Huawei smartphone will have a 5.7 inch screen – that will bear striking resemblance with to a phablet like its predecessor Nexus 6. Moreover, the Huawei smartphone is also said to be equipped with an 810 Snapdragon processor along with screen having 2K resolution. At this point, nothing can be said about the specifications of the LG Nexus smartphones as nothing about it is known or being speculated. However, it is expected that details will surface by summer FY15.
It is actually great news for Google fans that LG is actually working on a sequel of its popular nexus smartphone because its predecessor was actually very popular amongst the masses when it was launched earlier. The rumors have gained more momentum because of the Project Fi’s official Google video which is accompanied by a headset that is also likely to be released. Many believe that this initiative by the company looks like a teaser to make them aware of what is actually in store for them.
Hence, in a nutshell, Google is on the right track with its Nexus series and will soon come up with two smartphones as speculated to disrupt the industry. Google stocks are likely to benefit if these phones are launched this year.
