According to the statistics generated by the company, the service will be 20 to 26% better than the present compression algorithm used. Currently Zopfli is used for this purpose; the small compression size will make it easier for the pages to load faster. Those who use Google Chrome on mobile devices will get access to better features such as minimal battery usage and low data transfer fees.

Data compression is the mechanism of minimizing data, which makes it use less space with convenience in transferring. Data tends to be compressed more densely through this manner. “We hope that this format will be supported by major browsers in the near future,” a software engineer belonging to the compression team of Google, Zoltan Szabadka, mentioned in September. However, it is quite unclear at this point of time when it would come up with this update.
