The consulting corporation, International Business Machines is launching its headquarters for its healthcare unit in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This headquarters will be able to accommodate over 700 employees. The former CEO of Philips left her position when the company reported a disappointing quarter and blamed it on her and the health care unit that she was leading. The current chief executive officer of IBM Ginni Rometty sees Watson Unit as something that would completely change the health care system with the ability that it has, of managing and sifting ample amount of data. This unit will be able to provide patients with better diagnostics in developing nations, manage chronic circumstances basically from a cheap device or simply an app. The firm has recently announced that its Health Care Unit has a number of partners now. They have partnered with Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, Yale University, Colombia University and Teva Pharmaceuticals. Along with these partnerships, the company’s new endeavors involve the IBM Watson Health Cloud for Life Sciences Compliance and IBM Watson Care Manager. The Cloud for Life Sciences Compliance will be used to help pharmaceutical and biomedical companies to make their products available in the market while the Care Manager will allows doctors and hospital staff to better keep a record of the patients history, and will let them keep a broad list of determinants that would provide a specific program for their patient and thought it they will be able to provide better recommendation on how to improve a patient’s health. The business service is trying its best into moving in to more up and coming technologies like cloud computing, mobile computing and analytics while moving away from their old software and hardware products. Presently, IMB’s revenues have been constantly declining but the CEO of the company is trying her best to move ahead with the technology and is spending millions of dollars on the cloud service.
