Google Resolves The Bug Issue Amid Accusations By Yelp

Yelp accuses Google of being involved in deceit.

Google Inc. claims that the algorithm for mobile search of the company’s search engine has a bug that was deduced by a code push recently. The company is striving hard to resolve the bug. During the weekend, top executives belonging to Yelp and TripAdvisor – the Internet based company talked about a trend that they have witnessed on the smartphone searches of Google. They pointed out that the results for mobile searches for these companies were sabotaged by the tech giant by camouflaging them under the results that were provided by the company itself. So now the company was being accused by the corporate sector, however Google clarified itself by saying that it is not a practice by the company to deliberately manipulate the market. However, there is a minor anomaly in the coding mechanism that needs to be resolved. It was initially reported by Re/Code that the top execs at TripAdvisor and Yelp along with other similar firms did not resist about tweeting regarding the changes that were visible on the search engine along with expressing the dissatisfaction on the matter. When considering the complex history of Yelp and the search engine giant, the facts remains unchanged that Yelp is actually quite dependent on Google for its business. Moreover, they also failed to chalk out any other possible reason behind the shortcoming but directly pointed out to be the ulterior motive of Google. The executives belonging to the company claim that Google on purpose chose to hide the links by Yelp so that it can promote its own location search businesses. This is actually a massive allegation for Google who are blamed for being involved in deceit. The primary task of Yelp is to come up with reviews and locations regarding restaurants present on the Internet. The company is extremely dependent on the search engine of Google when visitors require information. So this actually makes a lot of sense to find the tech behemoth’s activities suspicious. Jeremy Stoppelman, the chief executive and co-founder of the company published a tweet which claimed, “no limit to how far @google will go, tricking consumers when they ask for Yelp or Trip. Everybody loses.” Hence now the company not only needs to satisfy TripAdvisor or Yelp but it also needs to clear on the allegations which have been implied on them. It seems legit of Yelp to voice their concerns but they also need to cite these concerns with proofs to support their argument.

IBM Comes Up With First Responder App Contest

IBM initiates the Responder Application Challenge to deal with disasters.

The world has been condemning the ISIS terror attacks that took place in Paris. So many companies belonging to the tech world are now skeptical where most of them are gearing up to prepare for worst scenarios. Some companies are now particularly focusing on disaster recovery where others have had eyes on disaster management since a fairly long span of time. The International Business Machines Corp. recently came up with a contest that will allow the developers to get access to their cloud computing platform so that they can motivate developers to come up with “disaster response-related app”
The attacks on the Parisians occurred on Friday evening where more than 129 people lost their lives whereas hundreds of individuals were reported injured. So to deal with the situation, IBM for the first time since its inception has come up with a Responder Application Challenge that will be running till December, 14, 2015.
A spokesperson belonging to the company has cleared that despite the contest was revealed three days after the Paris attack took place, but the idea was being improved by the company since the past couple of months but the launch date of the venture was decided to be November, 17, 2015.
Responder Application Challenge is in collaboration with Vencore which is an information solutions platform that offers services in analytics and engineering. The latter firm currently caters to the United States government.
It has also been reported that Vencore and IBM are also in talks with the officials belonging to Association of Public-Safety Communications and United States Geospatial and Intelligence Foundation. The idea behind this collaboration is to come up with an app ecosystem that makes way for mobile apps and predictive analytics so that the responders get the opportunity to show better efficiency.
The applications will be devised and built on the cloud platform of IBM where the aim is to leverage data so that the first responder hindrances can get solved with ease.
According to Anne Altman, IBM U.S. Federal and Government Industries’ General Manage mentioned in a statement, “The best innovation takes place when you drive toward a common goal.” She further added, “And it’s no different in government, where an ecosystem of developers, academia, technologists and others come together to address challenges.”
So now IBM is giving a platform to developers so that situations like the Paris attacks have some mercy in the form of disaster management. It is high time other tech giants do the same.

Enterprise Market: Apple's New Obsession

The multinational tech giant has taken a new turn and is now focusing on the enterprise market; it is still to early to say whether the greatest tech company will be able to take that market as well. Apple, Inc., on Wednesday released its iPad Pro for sale. This is the tech giant’s most expensive as well as largest tablet that has been released since the initiation of the multinational technology company. The chief executive officer Tim Cook has high hopes and ambitions for the newly released device, the fact that the investors find it rather modest, it give further hope to not only the CEO but also the company itself.
Launching the new Apple iPad Pro is a first for the American tech giant as well since the device is designed specifically for business users. Apple has always kept its focus on a more youngster outlook rather than aiming at the business niche market more like that of Blackberry’s. The business user has never been Apple’s ultimate user. As per the recent earnings call made by Tim Cook the revenue generation from the enterprise market or popularly the “business market” in a trial time span of one year touched a $25 billion mark. This revenue generation accounted for 11% of the sales that were made in that period. The tech giant has always kept its focus on diversifying especially when it comes to its iPhones since they account for at least two third of the multinational company’s total revenue. The executive now is making an entrance into the enterprise market which he has had an eye on for a while now. This interest of Mr. Cook’s has been evident from the recent partnerships that he has gotten into in the past year. In order to grow its business and further be better able to market its products to bigger companies, the company decided to indulge in such partnerships with Cisco System as well as International Business Machines. Additionally, this new strategy of Cook’s becomes extra clear when we get to know that the company has not just put its iPad against other tablets in the market but instead is being marketed against laptops. This is not quite as easy as it might sound since it has already been witnessed in the tech company’s history. Initially when the first iPad was launched back in 2010 it was a popular belief that it would go against laptops but thanks to the sales of its own Apple MacBook line, this thought failed to work out. In Fiscal Year 2013, the number of units of iPads that were sold was 71 million which was the highest it has even gone to and since then the sales have declined. In the recent fiscal year 2015, the sales of the tech giant’s tablets dropped down to 55 million units which was a drop of 19%. The new iPad Pro has been priced at $799 for a 32-GB device and goes up to $1,217 for a 128 GB model.

Intel To Explore Opportunities In IoT Sector

Intel Corporation has been doing relatively well when it comes to the Internet of Things (IoT) since the company launched its platform for the Internet of Things the previous year.

Intel Corporation has been doing relatively well when it comes to the Internet of Things (IoT) since the company launched its platform for the Internet of Things the previous year. It will not be an overstatement to claim that this might be the sector which will churn in substantial revenues for the company. It needs to be taken into consideration that the company is trying its best to bolster relations with other companies in the Information Technology sector.
Almost a week back, the company made another major accomplishment where they launched their second platform for the Internet of Things. The platform will cater to hardware, software and reference architecture. This platform caters to quite a few reference architectures that boast of the company's recent Quark processors solely devoted to the Internet of Things domain. These are easy and free of cost OS that boast of a diversified cloud suite and analytical capabilities from Wind River.
As per the chip maker, by the fiscal year of 2016, they will launch their SE system on chip (SOC). Since 2014, when Internet of Things was first launched and to date, the IT world has been taken by a storm. Together with cloud computing and wireless communications, the idea was put forward for connect everything together. The idea was to generate synergies so that the flow of information becomes rapid. Thus, in a short time IoT became the core selling product of Intel. The company initially was just upping its game in the PC domain but that particular industry was staggering and stumbling.
So now the company has left its rival behind and is on top of its game. Despite the market has become extremely saturated, the company's effort deserve applause. As per the analytics company, IDC, the market for worldwide sales in the Internet of Things domain has accumulated to $7.1 trillion by the fiscal year of 2020 that was initially $1.9 trillion back in the fiscal year of 2013. According to Intel's financial results for the third trimestral of the fiscal year of 2015, the cloud computing sales which is the biggest segment has gone down by 7% during the same tenure in the fiscal year of 2014.
On the other hand, the sales of Internet of Things have gone up by 10%. So Intel has potential to grow if it starts to streamline its focus further in the IoT domain. There are numerous horizons that can be explored.

Alphabet Android One Targets Emerging Markets

Alphabet to re-launch Android One targeting the Indian manufacturers.

Alphabet Inc. might not be battling it out anymore since its defeat but it still wishes to win the bigger battle. The company has plans to launch the economically priced Android One smartphone range again in the Indian market. According to the popular website, the Wall Street Journal, the company will reduce the restrictions it had previously implied on the local manufacturers so that they can come up with better functionalities and also be cost efficient. The tech giant has plans to join hands with Lava International which is an Indian mobile handset firm that will launch the products again in compliance with the recent requirements. Initially the Android One smartphones will be priced at $100, however, the prices for the new smartphones hasn’t been specified as of yet. Previously the company has enforced strict prerequisites along with various other technological demands that caused barriers for the local Indian manufacturers. They claimed that the restrictions that were chalked out were not assisting them in differentiating the smartphones from other manufacturers locally that developed Android One. Moreover, they were forced to buy the smartphone components from particular manufacturers. The local smartphones brand in the Indian market such as Micromax, Spice, and Karbonn where the companies that were considers to be producers of Android One in the Indian back in September 2014. The only difference in the phones was in terms of their design and appearance but the specs were similar and complied to the requirements set by Alphabet. So now the company has raised the bar, thus the manufacturers have now the choice of picking their wide array of suppliers for the devices. Back in times the sales of Android One in India did not really comply with the estimates. Only 1.2 million cellular phone units were sold that was only 3.5% market share when taking cheap mobile phones into consideration priced between $50 - $100. During the same tenure company’s like Xiaomi and Micromax had bigger shares of the same domain which were 7.5% and 8.7% respectively. Micromax was not officially listed to be a part of the Android One venture. The company is optimistic now that the change in strategy will lure manufacturers to come up with better smartphones that are budget friendly which will in return bolster sales. Google Android has already succeeding in becoming the widely used operating system but it is now time that they reign over cheap handsets market as well.

Alphabet Coins Low Priced Android One

Alpahabet to modify Android One to cater to Indian consumers.

It has been more than a year where Alphabet Inc. owned Google has launched the Android One. The company will now device new rules that will bolster Android One that will help them in luring the market share as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The modifications will enable the manufacturers to add new features along with the freedom to select the components that will be functional on the Android One devices. The publication giant has cited sources that have knowledge about the matter. According to them the manufacturers will have the leverage to choose their own prices. So this will assist them in maintaining the cost efficient status. The previous year in September, the search engine giant launched the Android One photos that had an aim to attract the target audience in the Indian market along with other emerging markets. Manufacturers at this point complained that the requirements by GOOG were extremely complex and strict that has only one or two components options. So the Android One service will be launched in the Indian market with several amendments revealed some sources on Wednesday. By coming up with program reboot, the cellular companies can pick out the processor partner. This will enable them to battle out with other smartphone manufacturers that encompass extravagant features that are running on the custom Android versions. An India based cellular company known as Lava International will launch the Android One in India. The core competitors of Android One are Apple and Android manufacturers. The previous year, the chief executive officer of the company Mr. Sundar Pichai launched the Android One. The core aim was to conquer the market share in the “fastest growing” cellular market across the globe. When it was launched only 10% of the Indian market utilized a smartphone that has extensive features. According to STGIST, “The first set of Android One offered price tags from $105 to $120 — cheaper than devices from Samsung Electronics, LG and other Android manufacturers. But Android One failed due to “limitation of devices.”” At this point of time, the smartphones belonging to Apple Inc., Nokia, Samsung Electronics are being used in the Indian market. Apple iPhones are extremely popular in the region where many people aspire to buy them. iPhone owners have developed an elite image in the Indian community. Usually these iPhones are bought on installments. The company has now a great chance to attract audience towards Android One.

Apple Comes Up With Indoor Survey Application

Apple develops an app that will support mapping and navigation.

Apple Inc. has recently unveiled a survey app for the iPhone which primarily serves as a Global Positioning System (GPS) for indoor usage. A new apps page has been launched on the Apple App Store were this app made its debut developed by Mr. Steve Troughton-Smith. The idea behind this application by the tech behemoth is to have its own mobile app platform that will assist small and medium sized businesses to guide consumers to their location by connecting on Maps Connect. The recent Apple product is currently not found through the search bar of the App Store. It can only be downloaded via Apple Maps Connect registrations. This application is so far hidden by the company and is also updated and termed as Indoor Survey version 0.1, that is functioning on iOS 8 on various devices like the iPod touch, iPad and iPhone which are used by owners of small businesses. Currently the application can offer support to three languages such as Chinese, English and Japanese. As per the description provided by the company regarding its Indoor Survey app states, "By dropping 'points' on a map within the Survey App, you indicate your position within the venue as you walk through. As you do so, the indoor Survey App measures the radio frequency (RF) signal data and combines it with an iPhone's sensor data. The end result is indoor positioning without the need to install special hardware." The present components in the Apple iPhone enable it to do various app based tasks. So the application merely gets its hands on the sensors present in the device and then starts to measure out the distance between the arbitrary connections points in the workplace to the Apple users. So the question here arises so as to what is the reference point that is used to measure the distance in the present radio waves from the device? Some of the people have this speculation that the Bluetooth sensors of the device are used while some consider it to be the Wi-Fi antennae. However, nobody really knows what the real game is and all this is based on mere speculation. The idea behind this app si unique and once it is launched publicly then many business owners will benefit since mostly businessmen are concerned about the location of their offices. AAPL has come up with a great technique that will have good impacts in the corporate sector.

Apple Plans To Use OLED Display For iPhone 7

The software company is reportedly considering using an OLED display for its next iPhone in line. Recently a report was released by a Korean newspaper in which Apple Inc is reportedly believed to be thinking of putting up OLED displays in its smart Apple Watch, and these displays will be coming from none other than Samsung. The news report also suggests that it is probable that the giant also thinks of incorporating this new technology to the upcoming iPhone 7 as well, which even though is just a rumor which has not been confirmed by the Californian company yet, can bring a lot of positive response from the users according to the analysts’ belief. The decision coming from Apple regarding the OLED display will not be confirmed till November and analysts have stated that the company is currently analyzing how the new design and technology will work for its users and whether it should opt for it or not. If it does not go for the OLED technology, the company will most probably just stick to the LCDs, which it has already been doing so for some time. Around two years back in 2013, CEO Tim Cook was seen discussing the potential OLED displays actually had and it looked like he was not a huge fan of the technology and deemed it as very awful, which almost confirmed to the market that the tech giant will not be using this display in any of its gadgets any time soon. However, since that time, there has been considerable progress and improvement in the OLED displaying technology and the previous issues of a bad display with saturation levels highly disastrous to the naked eye have experienced a massive change over the period of time. Samsung, on the other hand, has recently shown to use the OLED display with quite a lot of its phone and it was most prominent in the Galaxy Note 5, which shows that this idea might not be as bad as it has been considered by Cook. Analysts who are now considering the possibility of Apple business taking up the idea of using these new displays for its upcoming phone seem quite positive. They believe that once the giant takes up the new display for its new phone in the series, this is going to work wonders with the improvement in the display boost for the users and the quality difference will be very apparent and appreciated by the users at large. The software giant is already expected to improve its display for new phone and analysts have suggested for the giant to take up the OLED idea only, instead of the LCD as this will turn out to be much better for the company.
