Token Visa Card system

Visa is expanding the convenient Token Visa facility service to Asia Pacific through a partnership with United Overseas Bank.

Visa has made a decision to expand its latest Tokenized Visa service to Asia Pacific now, keeping its eyes on Singapore mainly. The giant financial company has launched this facility in partnership with United Overseas Bank.

The financial institutions visa token service offers newly targeted Asian customers more security and enhanced efficiency experience. This facility is domain controlled, interlinked with the individuals’ phone or application, and verified through VisaNet. It will provide users with secure transactions of money, because the technology will help to switch the normal account information to 16 digital security codes instead. This technology will help in continuing payment transactions without any exposure of the users account data and sensitive confidential information.

Fraud protection can definitely be a point of interest in this new service by the banking business; it offers such security on numerous devices, such as smartphones and other online services. Token services also offer the facility of biometric authentication and device identification to customers. VisaNet is going to contribute in running this facility efficiently. United Overseas Bank is going to be the first one to start the token service, provided to the customers who desire it through digital wallet, UOB Mighty.

This innovative feature provides security and mobility to the customers of Asia Pacific, starting from Singapore. Customer who own smartphones with NFCs can make payments without contact by simply tapping to the Pay feature and entering their Pin codes. This feature was launched in October 2013 by the financial service to make shopping experiences more fun and simple, with more mobility and security. The head of Visa Asia Pacific product, T.S Anil said, “We live in connected world and with the rise of digitalization, it is important the payments industry is focused on delivering a safe, secure, simple and consistent consumer purchasing experience.”

The banking business’s partnership with UOB will popularize the service rapidly by installing the feature in the application called UOB Mighty. Apple Pay is also going have the token service integrated into it. This service will help to avoid fraud and credit or debit card theft, as cybercrime is getting highly common. Customers are looking for better ways to protect their money and even their identities now. The introduction of such services and feature can ensure that giant companies fulfill this demand to protect themselves and their customers.
Visa stock closed at $79.82 after going green by 1.53% on December 16.
